Senior Counsel

Lydia Hardy joined The Law Office of Mahdi Abdur-Rahman in 2022, where she serves as Senior Counsel. She specializes in Estate Planning, Business and Personal Injury Law. With a passion for Estate Planning, Lydia helps individuals and families preserve their legacies and wealth, plan for incapacity and business interruption, and ensure their minor children and disabled family members will continue to be protected and cared for under any circumstances.
Lydia gained experience through clerkships in entertainment law with Funderberg Law, worker’s compensation with Benzine Law firm, public interest with clerkships at the Fulton County Superior Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals, and criminal law with the Macon Public Defenders Office. She also worked as an insurance defense Associate for Cruser, Mitchell, Novitz, Sanchez, Gaston & Zimet, LLP before joining The Law Office of Mahdi Abdur-Rahman.
An Atlanta native hailing from the southwest side, Lydia graduated from Georgia State University with bachelor’s degrees in International Economics and French, respectively. She later earned her Juris Doctor at Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia where she developed a passion for using her legal education for the progress and betterment of her community. There, her article on voting rights was published in the Mercer Law Review. Additionally, Lydia was honored with the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Contracts II. The award is given to the highest scoring student in each law school class.
Lydia enjoys spending most of her free time with her family and friends but also loves a good yoga class and new cultural experiences. She hopes to own a yoga studio in Southwest Atlanta and become the best Estate Planning Attorney for people of color in Georgia and Texas.
